How about a super easy and quick DIY chandelier? I am not kidding, it only took me less than an hour to make this DIY Floral Chandelier with Fairy lights.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
- Metal wreath ring
- Greenery garland
- Floral accents
- Fairy lights (battery operated)
- Floral coiled wire
- Glue gun (optional)
- Plier
- Yarn or ribbon to hang
- Ceiling hook to hang
- Ceiling hook for heavier chandelier (optional)
Gather the materials depending upon the color scheme you are looking for. For this DIY, I was going for a green and white theme. So, I bought green garland and white floral accents. For the fairy lights, make sure to buy something with a smaller battery box, so that it would fit within the wreath ring.
Tip: I found the floral materials to be much cheaper from amazon than from my local craft store. But when you shop from your local store, you get to see the actual colors and combination preference before you buy.
Step : 1
Glue one end of the garland on the wreath and continue wrapping it around the wreath keeping it as close as possible. You will need additional garlands depending upon the size of your wreath ring.
Step : 2
Next add your accent florals. If you do not have a glue gun, use the floral wire to secure the floral pieces to the wreath. Arranging the accents is completely upon your personal preference. You can play around with multiple colors or follow a theme.
Step : 3
Once you are happy with the floral part, attach the LED fairy lights. First secure the battery box inside the wreath and then slowly wrap the light string around the wreath. Since the string is thin, it can easily hide and blend with the florals. If you have lights with thick wire or string, then I recommend you to attach it first and then attach the floral parts. This way, the florals will hide the light string. You can also add more led lights if you prefer so.
Step : 4
Finally, attach three equally cut pieces of yarn or ribbon at equal distance on the wreath ring for hanging. Tie the other end of the yarn together on top. Make sure that the ring is level and balanced. Install a ceiling hook with proper anchors and simply hang the floral chandelier.
This floral chandelier can be hung in kids room, above a dining table, in a tall entryway or even a wedding hall if you decide to decorate yourself. Size up or down depending upon where you want to hang this floral chandelier.
