As You guys know, we lovvve taking road trips!.🛣️ We have done so many cross country trips in US and touched Arctic ocean twice via road. Infact, our ultimate goal is to travel all around the world through road. Hoping that would happen soon.🤞🗺️ During such trips, its very important for us to travel with comfort. Only then, we can travel for a long time without any sort of frustrations. There are only two things you need for such trips, pack all the essentials (we created a road trip checklist for that. so that’s covered!) and pack comfortable, stylish attires. So, we are always on the hunt for good clothes. This article is a review of the travel pants for Men & Women from kuhl. They have plenty of varieties in this travel category. We chose one each from Men and Women to our liking.
IMPULSE TIGHT for Women
This is what I look for in my travel pants – No pinching, no riding up, need pockets (yes! plural), Soft to wear, not too tight, not too loose and should look cute with all kind of tops & t-shirts. I always prefer to wear stretchable soft leggings on our road trips. Having full size pockets on woman pants or leggings is something hard to find. Some leggings nowadays come with one phone pocket. Considering all these points I chose IMPULSE TIGHT for myself. This model is skinny fit, stretchy material, has 3 POCKETS 😮 (a big plus for me) and moisture-wicking. One thing that I have never considered before is the UV protection. This pant’s material has maximum (UPF50+) sun protection! so, that made me think. okay!, lets give a try.
First impression:
I got it in small size and black color. The fabric is lightweight but not soft to touch. But as soon as I wore them, I realized it doesn’t matter. Because, it was soft inside and has breathable material. I am 5ft 3in tall and 110lbs. The small size was perfect at the waist but little loose fit towards the bottom and legs.
I wore it for a weekend trip and a small hike. Since it was December and cold in here, I wore the pants with a thermal layer inside. The loose fitting I mentioned before was perfect with a thermal layer.
Things I like:
- Very Comfy to wear – no pinching, no riding up, breathable fabric.
- Pockets – this model (IMPULSE TIGHT) got 4 of them. I am not talking about mini pockets like in other women pants. It has full size pockets. I particularly, like the phone pockets on the sides.
- Raised back at the waist
- Sun protection fabric
- Stretchy & lightweight fabric
- Comfortable draw cord rather than buttons.
- I like those stitching that runs vertically on the legs. It brings some style into the outfit
Things I did not like:
- Not a skinny fit as I hoped . Every ‘body’ is different. For me, the pant was fine at the waist area but loose all below. I couldn’t do size down because it was already tight at waist level.
Overall, I think its a good quality and comfortable pants that will last long. I would definitely pack it for my next trip. I will update this blog when I use this pant for summer travel.

THE LAW JEAN for Men
A good pair of jeans is always my first and probably my only choice for travel, any kind of outdoor activity. I got The LAW jean from kuhl. To be honest, I chose this pant just because of the color, Espresso. It just immediately caught my eye and I had to take a good look at it. It has a tapered fit option, which I prefer, with a rugged look & texture – so it is definitely travel ready.
First time holding these pants on my hand felt heavy and the material was thick and felt very durable. Closer look shows double stitches and the material seems to handle everything you throw at it. It definitely did not look cheaply made. The pants are almost true to size, a tad on a smaller side, but nothing too uncomfortable. I got the 32×32. It has the ‘FreeRyde™ waistband lined with ultra-suede’ which sits snug on the waist and feels soft and comfortable. Even after wearing for hours, it never dig through the skin and cause discomfort! A big thumbs up!!
Hiking on a cold winter morning with the ground covered with frost, slush, puddles of water dried forest leaves etc. was a breeze. The pants are extremely comfortable to the point I never even gave a thought about them, that’s when you know they are really great.
Bye-bye to my collection of jean for future outdoor trips. I am going to wear only this from now, I love them that much! It’s comfortable, flexible while moving around, has deep pockets for bigger phones and just perfect! I can’t wait to wear these on my future road trips, hikes, camping, or just about anything, there is no need for a reason for wear these, they are incredible.
