In late May 2023, We went on our Roundtrip to explore New Foundland and Labrador in eastern part of Canada. During this trip, we had the chance to venture into a hidden gem of untouched natural beauty. Nestled along the rugged coastline, is Musgrave Harbour, Cape cove and Cape Freels. This picturesque destination offers a secluded escape where tranquility reigns supreme. Join us as we share our unforgettable journey, where we discovered the enchantment of pristine beaches and the joy of having this stunning location all to ourselves.
Discovering Cape Freels:
Newfoundland has so many unique secluded destinations. We picked a few to visit during our travel and this Musgrove Harbour and Cape Freels beach is one of them. At the start of the day, we did not have much expectations. We knew it would be definitely scenic and thats the main reason we chose this place, but we did not think that it would be spending majority of the day here off-roading and testing the capabilities of our Nissan pathfinder on those rocky and sandy beach trails..
Below map shows the route we took. There are several off-road trails in and around this area. We stopped and explored as we go and drove where ever there is drive trails. Specially, in Musgrave harbor beach, cape freels and Cape cove beach.
Time of visit:
It was late May in 2023, and we were lucky to visit Newfoundland and Labrador before the peak season. We enjoyed the low crowds, the empty roads, and most importantly – the absence of mosquitoes, which we heard can be pretty bad in spring! The weather was perfect, with clear skies and mild temperatures.
