Where to find the template?
Actually, you can generate your own template online here at template maker. This website is very cool. You just need to enter the desired dimensions and it creates downloadable svg or pdf file for you. Best thing is that its totally free! 🙂 Not just gift box & envelope, they have templates for so many different paper crafts.
Now lets get in to the tutorial!
Gift box with Cricut – DIY
Step – 1
First of all, we have to get our template from the website. Enter the sizes and download as .svg file.
Step – 2
Next, lets upload the svg file into our cricut design space.
When you upload the svg file to design space, every line type will be set as “cut” by default. Select the lines which has to be folded and set as ‘score’ as shown in below image. To make things easier, I recommend assigning different color for the cut object.
Select all the lines, objects and ‘attach’ them before making it.
Step – 2
Load the Standard grip mat with your choice of paper into the Cricut machine. I am using Deluxe paper from Cricut. Follow the instructions on software and continue to make. Remember to load the Scoring pen.
DIY Envelope
Repeat the steps above.
Load paper, scoring pen and fine-point blade Weed the paper Fold and glue
Pin it! For your project.
