There is a lovely couple (Karthik & yamini) we know, who happen to be our very good friends. It was Karthik’s birthday and Yamini wanted to surprise him with a cake. Are you wondering whether cake is really the surprise? Definitely not. She wanted the cake to look like a camera to portray karthiks’ passion
She is a great cook & very good at baking. But was not sure of how to bring the result as a camera. When she told me about this idea I was very much excited & definitely wanted to help in bringing out the expected result. Till then I have never had any experience of baking or even seen anybody baking. Totally ignorant of the process but somehow believed that my artistic talents (:P) would help me in carving the cake.
Making of the cake:
Enthusiastically Yam started mixing ingredients for the cake. Then the cake mixture was poured into two molds and placed in the oven. Then she started to make the black fondant & frosting. I was witnessing the whole process, helping here and there because I dint wanna mess up the taste. Definitely not the time to place my hands on somebody’s b’day surprise.
Meanwhile, both white frosting and fondant were made & refrigerated. Doubtlessly, the cake tasted so good!. Well, now time to lay my hands on for the carving! Yayy..While the cake was on the cooling rack I started to plan the process. We decided to do the Camera body & lens separately and then finish with the black fondant.
Here are few pics from the process.
Hmm… not bad for the first time isnt it! and I completely enjoyed the process of this delicious creation..
